Contract extension negotiations between Real Madrid and Vinicius Junior are on hold, with less than two years remaining on his current deal.
Representatives of the Brazil star have stepped away from the negotiating table, after Los Blancos chiefs declined to review their position.
Per El Larguero, Vinicius is seeking to earn over $29 million net per season, as he believes it would be in line with his market value.
Vinicius’ camp turned down a $23 million annual salary offer from Real Madrid during the talks, according to the cited media.
The 25-year-old is the third highest paid player at Real Madrid, behind Kylian Mbappe and David Alaba.
Vinicius currently pockets $17 million per year at Real, with a release clause of $1,2 billion.
He rejected a €1billion contract offer from Saudi Pro League side, Al-Ahli, last April.
