Real Madrid midfielder Eduardo Camavinga has suffered a sprained right ankle, the club said in a statement on Sunday, August 10.
According to The Athletic, the French international has missed several training sessions and is a doubt for Real Madrid’s final friendly match against Austrian club Tyrol on Tuesday, August 12.
While no announcement has been made by Real Madrid regarding the length of the player’s unavailability, Camavinga’s participation in the team’s season-opening match is unsure.
Real Madrid will face Osasuna on August 19 on the opening matchday.
Last season, Camavinga, 22, was sidelined four times, mainly due to muscle injuries, missing Los Blancos’ last nine matches and the Nations League Final Four with the French national team.
This fresh injury is another blow for new coach Xabi Alonso, who will also be without Jude Bellingham until October following a shoulder surgery.
