The 29-year-old French international (58 caps, 8 goals) has agreed in principle to join Saudi Pro League side Al-Nassr, per Fabrizio Romano.

Negotiations between Bayern and Al-Nassr are progressing, with an offer estimated at around €30 million on the table.

Al Nassr have offered Coman an annual net salary of between €20 million and €25 million (he receives approximately €1.40 gross per month at Bayern), with a contract running until 2028.

Coman joined Bayern in 2015 from Juventus, and has racked up several titles including nine German league titles, three domestic cups, and a 2020 Champions League.

Competition has intensified at Bayern, notably with the arrival of Luis Díaz for €70 million and the presence of Serge Gnabry.

However, signing in Saudi Arabia less than a year before the World Cup obviously carries a risk. Competition in attack for Les Bleus remains fierce, and a move away from Europe could weigh on the coach’s decisions.

Chevalier passed his medical and signed the deal on Friday, August 9, making him the third most expensive goalkeeper of all time.

According to Le Parisien, the reigning European champions paid €40 million to snatch the goalkeeper from Lille. That amount could reach €55 million if bonuses are included.

That also makes the Calais native the most expensive French goalkeeper in history.

The move to the Gulf state was highly unexpected, at a time when fellow former French Ligue 1 stars Steven Nzonzi and Wissam Ben Yedder are leaving the Iranian league to ply their trade elsewhere.

It is unclear what motivated this move but Ivorian journalist, Jean Konan, believes the player is hoping to keep his place in the national team ahead of the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations set for Morocco in January 2026.

“Aurier waited for promises to join a club in Europe following his departure from Galatasaray in Turkey, but those promises never materialised. Time was running out in the transfer window and when this offer came, he grabbed it,” Konan told PotoSports.
