Spanish midfielder Isco is set to miss several months of competitive action following another fractured fibula.
The 33-year-old suffered a left fibula injury during Real Betis’ 3-1 defeat to Malaga on Saturday, leaving La Rosaleda Stadium on crutches.
The former Real Madrid player sustained the injury after a poorly controlled defensive rebound by David Larrubia.
Medical examinations revealed “a new fracture without displacement of the middle third of the left fibula.” Isco could be sidelined for several months, according to the report.
The Spaniard had already undergone surgery for a fractured fibula in the same leg, which kept him off the pitch from May to December 2024.
Isco spent nine seasons (2013-2022) at Real Madrid before joining Sevilla for a brief stint and then moving to Real Betis in 2023.
