Manchester United have made a $70 million proposal to sign FC Barcelona midfielder Fermin Lopez, according to Spanish media, Sport.
The 21-year-old’s technical skill has caught the eye of United manager Ruben Amorim, who is seeking to add more creativity to his midfield ahead of the new season.
Now, are Barca open to parting ways with one of their most exciting La Masia graduates? Another Spanish media, Marca, claims $70 million could help ease Barcelona’s economic situation.
Barcelona are in quest of funds to fully comply with La Liga’s 1:1 financial rule, in order to register pending contract renewals and complete new signings ahead of the new season.
However, even if Barca accept the deal, the final word will rest with Lopez, who has vowed to remain at Camp Nou for many years.
If the €70 million deal goes through, it would represent one of the largest outward transfers in Barcelona’s history.
